Well, we have a new batch of babies in our bird's nest.  So exciting to see the little things. I guess they're siblings of last year's crop. What must they have thought of the July 4th Fireworks!

Hungry little fellows.  Reminded me to fill the bird feeders.

Well, I just got back from my godson's high school graduation.  I remember babysitting him when he was a month old.  I took him to his first movie.  And now he's all grown up!

Where does the time go?

RIP, little bird

Nature took its course, alright.  The little bird on the lawn has gone on to birdie heaven.  I found it in the grass the morning after I tried to feed it a worm.  I guess it had just lost the will to live.  (Do birds have a will to live, I wonder?)  Anyway, bummer.

Well, we've had some excitement

The mailman pointed out a bird sitting on the lawn that he said fell out of a tree.  I picked him up and he flew a short way, but landed back on the grass. So I called the SPCA and the Bedford Audubon Society.  Both said he would be fine.  That Mom would come get him, or he'd figure out how to fly.  I dunno.  I hope they weren't just saying that to make me feel better.

I looked him up.  He's an Eastern Phoebe, and apparently eats insects, but I tried to give him a grub and he wouldn't take it.  I sure hope he's ok

It's so nice when they think of us!

Just got a letter with some recent photos of the family from one of our nephews.  He's growing a beautiful family of his own now.

It was so nice to be remembered when they were thinking of family.

My nephew Kevin is getting married in September.  She really is a  lovely girl.  He chose wisely.  Considering he's the next to youngest nephew, that makes me REALLY old.
